Once a pioneering navigator in online security and privacy, GOOSE VPN lost attitude due to outdated design and technology. Over my nearly three-year flight with the company, our mission was to rise above and beyond a rapidly competitive market, ensuring a seamless journey into a unified, forward-thinking horizon.
Leading design in an agile, multidisciplinary team, we aimed to elevate GOOSE VPN's user experience with an iterative overhaul. Our goal was clear: to breathe in new life and ensure a smooth and consistent flight across all platforms. Starting with user and market research, we developed our brand identity and design language that involved into a system, to address the following challenges:
The GOOSE VPN story was shrouded and nobody understood its name. To better communicate its values and appeal to a modern audience, we repositioned the brand strategically. Employing compelling messaging and graphical elements resonated with our target users. This modernization touched every aspect of how the brand presented itself and interacted with its community.
Although universally available, GOOSE VPN’s experience was fragmented and with stale code. And it became evidently clear that we weren’t even flying in the same direction internally. To remedy, I defined screens, states, and mapped out user flows for clarity. And riding on the currents of our repositioning, our new Design System streamlined development and functionality across iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows platforms.
